Like Red Rock Canyon, you can find some beautiful red Aztec sandstone rock formations from the same era in the Valley of Fire State Park as well. Here though, the effects of erosion and weathering over the centuries seem to be more profound, sculpting the rocks into more exotic forms such as arches with slender limbs and columns. These shapes, with the classic red sandstone pigmentation, create some very photogenic rock formations. This is a collection of just a few of Mother Nature's interesting rock sculptures from various trails around the park.
